Sun Damage and Sun Spots
&srotate=0)
Welcome back to Symphony Medical Spas Blog. We are excited that you are here reading today. First off, Happy October! The leaves are changing color, and the air is getting cooler. I don't know about you, but I was hoping the warm weather would have stayed a little bit longer. I'm sure some of you have little trick or treaters counting down the days till they can fill their buckets with candy! We hope you stay safe and have a blast! When you are ready to come in and melt off all that candy with our WarmSculpting let us know! We are always happy to hear from you.
Today, we want to talk to you about spots. Not the spots you see when you stand up too fast, or the ones the rain make on the concrete when its raining, but sun spots or dark spots. We love spots on dalmatians don't get us wrong! But definitely not on our face, stomach, back, legs, arms, etc. Sun and age spots can be caused by a lot of different factors. Age and sun exposure play a big role in this, but also we are sometimes born with them. People with freckles or birthmarks also are eligible to have these types of dark spots removed. How does it work you ask? Advanced laser technology that Symphony Medical Spa uses is used to target your unwanted sun damage and brown spots. The energy delivered causes them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process, revealing clearer, beautiful skin.
How does the treatment work? Most people experience a mild, sun-burn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. Work with your provider to discuss other possible side-effects and the necessary post-treatment care. Occasionally the side effects will last a little longer due to the skin typing. If side effects continue, contact your provider to speak with them. For the majority of the patients there is no downtime, and you can resume your regular activities. Depending on your type of skin, and your desired results will determine how many treatments you need. Typically 2 treatments are always best to receive the maximum results.
Many times you can find an OTC topical ointment that will help reduce the appearance of dark spots, but is not permanent like the innovative technology we use here at Symphony Medical Spa. You don’t have to hide your spots with makeup or sleeves. You can come in for a free consult and talk to Dr. Forbes about your concerns. If you think it isn’t right for you, that is okay. We are always here to help you achieve your skin goals.
We hope to hear from you soon! As we say here at Symphony Medical Spa: Be you, be bold, be simply confident.
